Poll: Does Guitar Hero Aerosmith support Rock Band guitars?

Alright, this is getting ridiculous. Activision has yet to respond to our requests for clarification, and anecdotal reports continue to contradict our finding that the Rock Band Stratocaster does not work with Guitar Hero: Aerosmith on the Xbox 360. If you'll consult our guitar compatibility matrix, you'll find that incompatibility is par for the course, so we left it at that. But conflicting reports keep coming in.

Our original tipster, who works for a rather large gaming magazine, tested all manner of guitars with Guitar Hero: Aerosmith but, alas, he was on an XDK – the Xbox 360 debug kit (and no, the above is not Photoshopped, it's a direct screen grab). Perhaps something, however unlikely, has changed from the reviewable code to the final retail code? Even then, we've gotten tips as recently as this morning claiming the Rock Band guitar does not work with the retail release of Guitar Hero: Aerosmith. Frankly, we can't keep track anymore so we'll do the next best thing: power of the masses.

Readers pick best webcomic: The Inevitable Conclusion

For the Rush reference and a Seussical interpretation of Guitar Hero V's drum set, we handily hand Hijinks Ensue this week's webcomic wrapup award.

Second and third place go to Penny Arcade and 2P Start, respectively. Thanks to everyone who voted, and be sure to let us know of any game-related webcomics you stumble upon this week!

Poll: What classes would you like to see return in Diablo 3?

Along with finally confirming Diablo 3's existence, Blizzard also revealed two of the five (or perhaps more) classes, the Witch Doctor and the Barbarian. Although we imagine any returning characters would see a massive overhaul from their previous renditions -- that's assuming the remaining three aren't entirely original -- we want to know who you'd like to see make it into the third game.

(Note: All classes in the game have both male and female options, hence voting D1's sorcerer is the same as voting for D2's sorceress.)

Poll results: 43% of Joystiq readers were right about Diablo 3

It turns out Joystiq readers are very smart soothsayers (not that the entire internet didn't see it coming, either through wishful thinking or horribly Photoshopped images "leaked from Blizzard's servers"). When the mysterious week-long splash page started, we asked you to predict the announcement expected at the Worldwide Invitational. Here were your top three answers:
  • Diablo 3, and it's about time! (43.8%)
  • Wrath of the Lich King release date (19.2%)
  • Starcraft 2 release date (8.9%)
Congratulations to everyone who guessed right. And as for everyone else ... hey, what are you complaining about? You still got Diablo 3!

Readers pick best webcomic: The Gabriel Method

Apparently putting two Penny Arcade entries doesn't split the votes, but somehow garners Tycho and Gabe with over 50% of the weekly webcomic wrapup's votes.

First place goes to "The Gabriel Method," third place goes to "The Flavor Factor" and sandwiched in-between is Rooster Teeth. Thanks to everyone who voted. Be sure to let us know what game-related webcomics you stumble upon this week!

Poll: What's Blizzard's big WWI announcement?

Blizzard's new splash page has set the internet on fire. With the developer's Worldwide Invitational set to begin this Saturday in Paris, we've got about three more days to speculate wildly as hundreds of "top secret inside sources that are 110% reliable" feed us tips about the big news.

The top two rumors seem to be Diablo 3 and a Wrath of the Lich King release date, but we think anything's possible -- if you recall, last year's big announcement was Starcraft II. (Our money is on a Wii-exclusive Blackthorne FPS.) Tell us, what do you think is Blizzard's ice-shattering announcement?

Readers pick best webcomic: On Perspective

Some say they were picked by merit of being Penny Arcade. Still, we think this strip was rather poignant and quite deserving in its own right of this week's Webcomic Wrapup. We'd love to present a trophy, but we're not so good in the art department and Gabe doesn't return our emails. Maybe we have to beat him at WoW TCG to get his attention.

Second and third place go to 2P Start and CAD, respectively. Thanks to everyone who voted, and be sure to let us know of any gaming comics you stumble upon this week! Well, actually ... since we have to get back on schedule, you've only got about 20 hours to get our attention.

Weekly Webcomic Wrapup is inexcusably late

To whom it may concern,

The Weekly Webcomic Wrapup has for the past few months been getting pushed back further and further. There is no excuse for this, and we have set plans in motion so that it does not happen in the future. Thank your for your time.

Signed,
The Undersigned.

Our hats are officially off to you, Fanboys-Online.

Second and third place go to 2P Start and Penny Arcade, respectively. Thanks to everyone who voted, and be sure to let us know of any game-realted webcomics you stumble upon this week!

Poll Results: Poker best, Shrek worst of XBLA chopping block titles

Over the last few days, we asked you to pick the best and worst of the Xbox Live Arcade titles that are potentially up for delisting. We've now tallied the votes and the results are in:

Best:
  1. Texas Hold 'Em (12.77%)
  2. Marathon: Durandal (12.48%)
  3. Contra (9.18%)
Worst:
  1. Shrek N Roll (12.00%)
  2. Yie Ar Kung-Fu (8.37%)
  3. Screwjumper! (6.48%)
You can view our picks for best and worst here. We want to make a special note regarding the Yaris game, which was not included because it would pass the delist hurdle of over 6% conversion rate (hint: it had no demo and was free; the devil is in the details). We don't know if Microsoft will be that stringent regarding its guidelines, but there is poetic justice in noting that the developer, comprised of former Blizzard North staffers, suspended operations in April.

Readers pick best webcomic: The Unhorse

By a rather large margin, Penny Arcade's "The Unhorse" took the top spot in this week's webcomic wrapup. And we're sure all those voters were rooting for the horse, right? Right?

Second and third places go to Fanboys and Digital Unrest, respectively. Thanks to everyone who voted, and be sure to let us know of any game-related webcomics you stumble upon this week!

Joystiq Poll: Worst of the XBLA chopping block

Earlier this week we presented our opinions of the best and worst of Xbox Live Arcade's potential delisters, and yesterday we asked you to vote for the best on XBLA's chopping block. Now it's time to find out what you think is the worst. You know, that XBLA game that, if personified, you'd probably gossip about and avoid at parties.

After the break, vote for your Worst of the Worst, and if you're so inclined, tell us why in the comments below. Results will be tallied tomorrow.
