Activision has announced more songs due to rock your socks off in Guitar Hero 3. In addition to the four previously revealed to fan community ScoreHero, the following songs were also announced:
We're pretty interested in seeing which tracks will also be found on Guitar Hero competitor Rock Band, from original GH developer Harmonix -- "Mississippi Queen" was previously shown in one pre-E3 video. The full list of announced tracks are listed after the break.
* "Miss Murder," by AFI - Meh * "3's and 7's," by Queens of the Stone Age - Meh * "Raining Blood," by Slayer - Awesome! * "Reptillia," by The Strokes - Meh * "Paranoid," as made famous by Black Sabbath - Classic Choice * "Cities on Flame," as made famous by Blue Oyster Cult - Meh , needs more cowbell * "Mississippi Queen," as made famous by Mountain - I'd rather have sitin on a rainbow. * "Paint It Black," by The Rolling Stones - The stones rock * "Cherub Rock," by Smashing Pumpkins - Great Song * "Sabotage," by Beastie Boys - Good choice * "The Metal," by Tenacious D - Funny Pozers, shouldn't be on here * "My Name is Jonas," by Weezer - Cool * "Knights of Cydonia," by Muse - Ghey ass band * "Rock And Roll All Nite," as made famous by Kiss - Fine * "School's Out," as made famous by Alice Cooper - great * "Slow Ride," as made famous by Foghat - Classic * "Cult of Personality," by Living Colour - Great * "Barracuda," as made famous by Heart - There are better heart songs but fine * "Suck My Kiss," by the Red Hot Chili Peppers - Meh * "La Grange," by ZZ Top - Rockin * "Number Of The Beast," as made famous by Iron Maiden - Maiden Rocks * "Through The Fire And Flames," by DragonForce - GHEY!
I find it funny how the trolls on this site also have bad taste in other forms of entertainment... How do you like Weezer (My second favorite band) but not the Chili Peppers, Muse, or A.F.I.? I like pretty much all the songs on this list (some I haven't heard but unlike some people I have an open mind and I will probably learn to love them)
Everyone has their likes and dislikes. Primarilly if I can believe in the emotion that a song conveys I'll probably get into it. I don't like bands that make music that doesn't sound honest.
I believe in honesty over presentation. AFI are a bunch of wannabes, The chillie peckers are honest just cheesy, and Muse just sounds like pansy music to me, I can picture muse going , "I want more girly sounding arrangements". "No man we gotta be hard rock or people are gonna figure us out."
If by "Queens" you mean "Queen," then the answer is on Guitar Hero 1, hanging out with all the other good music.
And everyone knows that Jimmy Page is far too much of a prick to let anyone use Led Zeppelin music for a video game. Don't get me wrong, I want to see it as much as you, but it ain't happening.
I don't own any current-gen consoles (no free time, so I'm sticking with handhelds and PC). With that being said, if someone puts King Crimson into a rhythm game, it's an immediate system-seller for me.
This tracklist actually looks quite good, I'd probably enjoy Cult of Personality and Sabotage.
Just to point out in your list of all released tracks, you have Number of the Beast as a cover and La Grange as a master track when it's actually the other way around.
I'd also like to say I'm really upset that they decided to put an abortion of a song such as Miss Murder in the game :(
I disagree big time, I love the fact AFI is getting represented. I wish it was Days of the Phoenix, but glad none-the-less that AFI has now made it into the Guitar Hero world.
While Miss Murder wouldn't be my first pick, (I would love to play Totalimmortal...) I think putting A.F.I. in is a great choice. Just because it is poplular doesn't mean that it is bad (lol it usually does, but if you listen to their old stuff, it's pretty good). Another example is My Chemical Romance. I know at least half of you shuttered when you read that but if you listen to their first album, I Brought You My Bullets You Brought Me Your Love, you will be blown away. I think some of the songs off that cd could make a great Guitar Hero song.
If they were really so interested in seeing which tracks would be found on RB and GH3, it would have been easy to figure out that Reptilia, Paranoid, and MIssissippi Queen are on both.
Man, I love the Strokes, and Reptilia is my favorite song by them. (Incidentally, it, too, will be in both games - it was announced as part of the Rock Star tracklist during E3.)
Since my F'n copy of GTA IV will be delayed I guess I will have to soothe my wounds of disappointment's by buying this game.... Did I mention that Take 2 are wankers?
what are you talking about? they are the same price for the same amount of content. in fact, if you just want to do the guitar career (all that GH3 offers) in Rock Band, you can use your existing GH guitar and only buy the disc for Rock Band.

That must've ended in divorce.
Anyway, These guys really love their metal. why else would they have Number of the beast, Raining blood and The Metal? not to mention Dra-ghey Force.

the only song that I would be willing to sit through more than once would be Number of the Beast.
Einhanderkiller @ Aug 2nd 2007 3:18PM
Muse "ghey"? You fail.
Brent @ Aug 2nd 2007 3:32PM
Muse rules. Although I would much rather play "Absolution" than "Knights of Cydonia". The bass line to Absolution kicks all sorts of ass.
Raikage @ Aug 2nd 2007 5:35PM

I agree, Muse do suck!
Kyera @ Aug 2nd 2007 2:34PM
So... we've got some crossover between games, I guess.
Charron @ Aug 2nd 2007 2:39PM
I expect a fair level of argument over which game has the better note charts.
hvnlysoldr @ Aug 2nd 2007 2:33PM
... I don't seem to like any of the songs...

Can we get some ****ing 311 already??? When will they ever get any respect? Guys have been turning out great albums for 16+ years now.

I agree.

"My Name Is Jonas?" Hell yeah!
Hoffer @ Aug 2nd 2007 4:28PM
Slayer = awesome!!
I know they have a couple full albums coming out. I would love a couple Slayer albums. South of Heaven would be great fun.
FrankTheCrank @ Aug 2nd 2007 3:04PM
SLAYER!! YES!!! FINALLY!!!
I CAN'T WAIT!!
PLEASE HAVE THE NAIL BRACELET BUY-ABLE IN THE STORE!!

AFI sucks major ass.

holy shit... queens of the stone age ^^
but I still prefer rock band...
(wich also has qotsa song, and i am SO gonna play the drums)
Alcevious @ Aug 2nd 2007 3:19PM
No CCR? WTF?
Raikage @ Aug 2nd 2007 5:46PM
No kidding!
Hey Apples @ Aug 2nd 2007 3:20PM
It will be interesting to see the differences in play and presentation for the tracks which are in both GH3 and Rock Band.
I am surprised that some tracks would end up in both, didn't expect to see that.
bounchfx @ Aug 2nd 2007 3:24PM
I was hoping they wouldn't.
ugh. this better be the only one.
Todd H. @ Aug 2nd 2007 3:26PM
Just add one TOOL song and I'm in. Although, I'd prefer them to make some songs available to Rock Band, Danny Carey's drum parts would be incredible.
Willozap @ Aug 2nd 2007 3:40PM
Totally agree... But that ain't gonna happen.
admanimal @ Aug 2nd 2007 3:29PM

Still waiting on Styx, here. Renegade, anyone?

SID SPACE @ Aug 2nd 2007 3:48PM
Yes! That was the one song from the new qotsa album I was hoping they'd add.
murph @ Aug 2nd 2007 3:56PM
SLAYER!!! Hells Yeah!
DarthDavid @ Aug 2nd 2007 3:56PM
All we need is some Cannibal Corpse, "Pounded Into Dust", "Sentenced to Burn", or "Stripped, Raped And Strangled" please =]
KrazyIan @ Aug 2nd 2007 4:00PM
SLAYER!!!
And they seriously need to add Pantera back in the mix. I'd love to tear it up to 'Strength Beyond Strength'.
pmasterfunk @ Aug 2nd 2007 4:17PM
.on a completely unrelated matter
THEY SHOULD MAKE GUITAR HERO FOR PSP
release a portable guitar thingy, have downloadable songs, online multiplayer, custom songs, EVERYTHING!!
that would rock wipping out a portable guitar in the mall and just goin all out
jackbauer @ Aug 2nd 2007 5:39PM
NAH!
Abscissa @ Aug 2nd 2007 5:59PM
I'm not surprised by "Paranoid". I've always figured that was a Guitar Hero inevitability.
Anam @ Aug 2nd 2007 7:02PM
Yeah, but I'd rather see Fairies Wear Boots. Paranoid is a great song, but it's too repetitive.
EMaster @ Aug 2nd 2007 5:15PM
Since my F'n copy of GTA IV will be delayed I guess I will have to soothe my wounds of disappointment's by buying this game.... Did I mention that Take 2 are wankers?
EMaster @ Aug 2nd 2007 5:16PM
Yeap I'll be buying this instead...
longhairbilly @ Aug 2nd 2007 8:51PM
Slayer... Sold.
OTAM @ Aug 2nd 2007 5:41PM
With a track listing like this, why is anyone bothering to get that overpriced Rock Band??
AgainstOne @ Aug 6th 2007 9:50PM
